野菜やおもちゃなど身近にあるものの画像を使ってコラージュし、さまざまなかわいいイメージが作れる「Faces iMake」のiPad版です。
遊び方は簡単。野菜などの画像を選択し、回転やサイズの調整などをしながら自分の思ったところに配置するだけ。写真も画像として配置することができるなど、細かい機能も充実しています。
非常に自由度が高いので、想像力をかきたてられます。また、用意された画像からイメージ通りのものを作るためには、目的のものをよく知らなければいけないため、観察力も身につきそうですね。
親子でもっと楽しく
うちの子はお絵かきは好きだけど、まだ青い鉛筆で描いたぐるぐるを「りんご！」と言うくらいなので、さすがにこのアプリは厳しいと思いながら、やらせてみましたが……。結果は、撃沈！ ２歳児には難しいアプリです。ただ、コラージュ用の画像が非常に豊富なので、ひとつひとつ教えてあげると「ばな！（バナナ）」「なしゅ！（なす）」と、それはそれで楽しそうでした。
こうしたわけでしばらくは私と妻のおもちゃになりそうなこのアプリ、私も早速子どもと妻の顔を作ってみましたが、妻の顔はなんだか恐ろしい顔に。特徴をとらえすぎたのかもしれません（笑）。
いつもの遊びに取り入れて
アプリの名前の通り、まずは顔を作るのがおもしろいのですが、見本にあるように、顔以外のイメージももちろん作れるので、動物や魚など、いろいろなお題で作ってみましょう。意外なアイデアにびっくりしますよ。また、Facebookやメールで作ったコラージュを共有することもできるので、友だちや親戚が遠くにいるときは、この機能を使って、みんなで楽しみましょう。

何かを組み合わせて形を作るのは大好きです！！手が小さいからか不器用だからか、パーツを大きくしたり、小さくしたり、操作するのが難しかったようで、「これ大きくして、ここにおいて！」「もっとこういうパーツがほしいなあ」といろいろ試行錯誤して、作っていました。ギャラリーに見本がたくさん入っていたのもとてもうれしいようで、「次、こういうの作りたい」と意欲的です。

園で様々な材料を使って何かを作るということを始めたところなので、このアプリで普段実際には使えない物など様々など材料を思う存分使って顔の表情を作ることが楽しくて仕方ないようでした。これは目…まゆげ…と顔のパーツ名を言いながら配置していたためか、実際に紙を使ってでのお絵描きでも顔や体のパーツをきちんと描くことができるようになりました。
